Approach

I have 10+ years of experience in the mental health field, including the following settings: inpatient, outpatient, IOP/PHP, residential, and telehealth. My goal is to provide evidence-based, holistic care by combining psychopharmacology with supportive psychotherapy to enhance each individual’s mental, physical, and emotional state of well-being. I value collaborative relationships and enjoy tailoring care by taking into account one’s unique identities, background, and environment. I am passionate about social justice and equality, learning about the cultural underpinnings that comprise each unique identity, and reducing the stigma of mental illnesses. I am committed to providing a safe, inclusive space for all.

About Me

I am a Pacific Northwest transplant—my roots are in Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee. I attended undergrad at Lindsey Wilson College in Kentucky, studying psychology and Christian ministries, while fueling my passion for sport as a member of their Division I varsity cycling team. With psychology captivating my interest, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in counseling, which led me to East Africa (Uganda and Rwanda), where I worked in non-profit development and implemented mental health programs within various organizations. Desiring to expand my knowledge in mental health, I moved back to the states to continue my education. I earned a master of science in nursing (MSN) degree at Vanderbilt University, specializing as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP). I later returned to Vanderbilt University to obtain a doctor of nursing practice (DNP) degree.

I started my career as a PMHNP at Vanderbilt University’s counseling center, providing psychiatric services to the student population (undergraduate, graduate, and professional students). I merged my educational backgrounds by not only providing psychiatric evaluations and medication management services, but also incorporating in psychotherapy, heart rate variability biofeedback, and mindfulness practices. I later transitioned into private practice, where I continue to approach care in a holistic manner by combining psychopharmacology with supportive psychotherapy.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, running, reading, and exploring nature with my partner, two children, and dog.
